Palette knife work.
I went to Taos last Feb. ('09) and took many photos of this mission and surrounding area. Even though I'm showing this as a colorful spring or summer scene, there was snow on the ground when I took the photos. I remember it well because I was slipping and sliding on the snow around the buiding. I finally got smart and went back to the van where luckily I had some deep tread work boots. The boots provided such good footing, I ended up walking around for over an hour in the area, taking many photos. Cindy was back in Santa Fe at the hotel, sick as dog with a stomach virus, so she couldn't be with me on my day trip to the Rancho De Taos Mission.
We will have other trips together, as I am hitting the road to several art shows around the country.
Cindy is having surgery on her back, and hopefully, will be ready to go to some of the shows with me!

Oil on canvas using palette knife. On display at the Milan Gallery in Ft. Worth, TX.
This piece is meant to draw in the viewer by use of the road and a vanishing point at the end of the road. Anyone who has a love for the beauty of Santa Fe needs very little inspiration to go back. Bet you want to go back right now, don't you?

Time to think during a walk in crisp February weather.
This piece was inspired by a stop in McLean TX. on my way back from Santa Fe, NM. My wife was walking up the dirt road near the old house when I snapped a photo. It made a perfect subject. I like to do somewhat solitary scenes that inspire thought about one's life, where we've been and where we might go. I'll bet you like to think about these same kinds of things.
